What a wonderfully creative couple.
When Iris first booked her Hot Chilli Photography session for her and partner Nelson, I was most impressed by the location they had chosen – the amazing “Ttekceba” in Beaconsfield Upper.
This fantastic bed and breakfast has the most incredible decor, which has been lovingly and painstakingly created by the owner, Veronica. The location was replete with stunning interior decoration, along with a host of friendly animals who share the property – including a rare albino peacock, which sadly has since passed away.
Iris and Nelson came to the shoot well prepared looking for a series of creative black and white nudes that were mostly about form and lighting. Works of art that they could be proud of. They showed me plenty of images that they liked, which made it much easier for us to visualise the images together.
On the day, I wasn’t feeling too good, as I’d picked up a dose of the cold, and due to my GPS getting confused (don’t you just love technology?), running late for the shoot, but it was hard not to be affected by Iris and Nelson’s sense of excitement once we settled in.
We shot quite a lot of images that night, as the location lent itself to an amazing array of possibilities. Iris and Nelson both had a fantastic creative energy that was almost insatiable. It seemed every idea we created led to another one, and another, and another. Every idea we explored was more creative than the last. It was like an out-of-control creative snowball rolling down a hill, but it was lots of fun.
In the end, Iris and Nelson were pretty happy with the results, which I think personally had a lot to do with who they were as people.
“Hot Chilli Photography made a very personal experience extremely comfortable and rewarding for my partner and I. The customer service was excellent before, during and after the photo shoot and we’d have no hesitation in recommending them to all our friends. It was fun, adventurous, different and very memorable, the perfect gift to ourselves.”
It really was a pleasure working with you both. Thanks for being so creative and energetic!
